Financial Controller
An opportunity is available for an experienced qualified accountant, to move into a Financial Controller position, where further progression is available in the future.
This established and forward-thinking manufacturing company have the resources and desire to invest in systems, processes and people, to streamline the operation for today and in the future.
The remit will be to continue to develop and improve the company's business financial systems in order to generate up to date, and accurate business information.
You will take control of the finance function overseeing its output to ensure the department is providing excellent support to the business. To be successful and well suited to the role you will need to have an interest and capacity to understand a modern ERP system, understand the business processes from an operational as well as technical point of view, and an ability to work with people at all levels and in all department.
Reporting to the Finance Director, and supported by the Finance Assistant, you will work closely with Production, Purchasing and Operations, to get the output you need.
This role will encompass all of the usual tasks and procedures normally associated with running the Finance Department, specifically overseeing / producing accurate weekly and month accounts.
The main focus of the role will be to ensure the finance function is providing a service to the business not just a reactionary historical reporting function, with particular attention being made on the company's gross margin. You will research, develop, generate, and analyse models, processes / reports to validate the gross margin, together with making recommendations on how to improve this and make the generation of correct information a self-sustaining process.
Staff
The Accounts Assistant reports into this position.
Non-Financial Reports
Increasingly additional compliance reports and analysis are being requested / required to be done. You will ensure that systems are maintained / created to ensure their timely completion.
The Successful Candidate
You will be a qualified Accountant or someone qualified by strong experience in a similar role in the recent past. The ability to oversee the Accounts is taken as read. This role which will involve intensive use of excel and the main ERP system.
The successful candidate will require the following:
- A recognised Accounting Qualification
- A positive "can do" attitude.
- The ability to work with other people to get them to follow you and your proposals.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, look ups). Access would be an advantage.
- Experience using and ERP system.
- Good analytical skills and be able to identify the relevant data in order to make and support decisions.
