Central Inpatients occupational therapy team are excited to offer the opportunity to appoint a new full-time assistant practitioner to join our existing and well established acute occupational therapy team.
This post provides an exciting opportunity to join an established multi – disciplinary team working in the sometimes challenging but rewarding environment of acute inpatient services. This post will be working with patients admitted informally or under a section and provide therapy on and off the ward. You will assist the Occupational Therapists to plan, design and deliver therapy and activity within the objectives of the treatment plan. In addition there will be opportunities to develop skills through the provision of group therapy sessions as well as individually-tailored therapy sessions to service users.
You will require the ability to work autonomously, implement and follow plans of care, which have been developed in collaboration with service users, families/carers, and inpatients staff. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills, be IT literate and have a flexible approach to the role. You will have responsibility of liaising with appropriate organisations promoting patient community links with social groups, charities, vocational work etc.
You must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe patient care and be a good role model in reflecting the Trusts core values.
You will work in a highly supportive environment and will be provided with regular supervision.
You will be supported by an experienced Occupational Therapist receiving supervision and CPD opportunities.
The role may require the successful employee to be flexible, at times requiring working hours outside the usual 9am-5pm and/or weekend working.
