Working as part of the Radiology team at Frimley Park hospital, under the supervision of a Senior Radiographer, to deliver the Radiology service. The level of supervision is agreed on a case by case bases with the supervising radiographer, who will justify the requests.
This position is perfect for radiographers who are looking to return to work and need support gaining their HCPC, current 3rd year students who have not obtained their HCPC yet or current assistant practitioners in Radiology.
- Perform all radiographic procedures to a high professional standard in accordance with the Assistant Practitioner protocols, under the supervision of a Senior Radiographer.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance programme in line with IPEM77.
- Undertake training and study, as necessary, to ensure that a high level of personal professional knowledge and expertise is achieved and maintained.
- Provide an efficient and effective service to both patients and other staff, whilst maintaining a high standard of patient care.
- Maintain a customer care approach at all times.
- Support the introduction of Government, Trust, and Departmental quality and business initiatives.
- Actively encourage feedback as part of the departmental quality initiative.

We have three main hospitals - Frimley Park in Frimley near Camberley, Heatherwood in Ascot and Wexham Park near Slough.

- Participates in Red Dot system, with the support of a Senior Radiographer – recognition of abnormalities to support fast track diagnosis by referrers.
- Reports equipment failures to an appropriate Senior member of staff.
- Skills for assessing acute & other patient’s conditions, appropriate diagnosis from range of options, under the supervision of a Senior Radiographer.
- Maintain good communication and relationships with a number of stakeholders including patients and other users of the service.
- Provide relevant information to ensure that patients and carers are fully aware of risk / benefits before undertaking any radiographic procedure.
- Provide relevant information to ensure that verbal consent is gained from patients or carers before undertaking any radiographic procedure.
- Communicates instructions to patients to allow radiographic positioning.
- Use of interpreters when required.
- Liaison with ward staff, and porters.
