Loombest Ltd are looking for an Assistant Broiler Farm Manager, on our state of the art Broiler farm Based in Suffolk The assistant farm manager will be responsible for supporting the Farm Manager in the day-to-day management of the farm, ensuring that the poultry are produced to the highest standards. The Assistant Farm Manager is also responsible for site security and biosecurity. You will provide holiday or absence cover for the Farm Manager.
Requirements of Assistant Farm Manager
- Manage the farm to ensure that bird welfare is of the highest standards and never compromised.
- Supporting the farm team in the day to day running of the farm to produce chicken of the highest standards.
- Manage and monitor ventilation, heating, feed, water, litter and lighting within the agreed standards, and ensure that the maximum quality conditions are provide for the birds.
- Maintain communication with the Farm Manager regarding the performance of the crop, thus ensuring the efficient performance of each flock. Maintain the professional integrity and appearance of the farm at all times.
- Manage and control visitors/contractors on site, checking that all work is carried out that is required.
- Conducting night checks and alarm cover. This is in rotation of every other week/weekend.
- Ensure that site security is maintained at all times, and report any issues.
- Ensure that the site is always in a clean, tidy and presentable manner.
- Ensure the Company Health and Safety policy is adhered to at all times.
- Ensure that all Codes of Practice are adhered to at all times.
- Having a good attitude and being reliable.
- Flexible approach will be necessary as this role will require working weekends and some early mornings/late night work.
- Undertake any other duties as required to fulfil the needs of the Farm.
- Ensure compliance with Red Tractor Assurance Scheme.
- Ensure site is audit ready at all times.
Qualifications
- Literate/Numerate – documentation recording
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and carry out manual duties
- Great communication skills
- NVQ Level 2/3
- Experience in poultry
