Capital Excellence and Controls (CXC) is part of KPMG’s Major Projects Advisory team – a multi-disciplinary team of cross-sector experts in complex project and programme delivery. The Role
Assistant Managers in our team are right at the forefront of delivery playing a pivotal role, bringing to life tailored solutions for our client’s complex challenges whilst managing important relationships. It is a role that requires you to wear many hats, but you’ll be well supported by the rest of us.
Your day-to-day involves:

Being part of high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams, supporting on complex, multifaceted, consulting engagementsSupporting and managing the delivery of client-facing work within specialist Project / Programme Controls areas, ensuring new processes and tools are designed with a strong human /end user focus Assisting with some financial and commercial aspects of an engagement Keeping up to date with market trends and identifying opportunities for thought leadership Understanding KPMG’s broader suite of services and identifying opportunities to collaborate and design unique client solutions Coaching and mentoring your colleagues – both up and down Most importantly, being a role model for KPMG and living our values every day

Your track record should evidence:

A proven history of operating as an effective manager in a consulting firm or in project or programme management roles A strong Project / Programme Controls background of between three and five years’ experience - primarily built around the delivery of complex Projects/Programmes and transformational changeStrong experience in applying Project Controls including monitoring, reporting, planning, scheduling, cost control / estimation, risk management, change control, assumptions management, opportunities for improvement and implementing project controls best practicesIdeally one or more sector experience in Infrastructure, Transport, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, Financial Services, Utilities or Manufacturing preferredIn-depth experience of applying Project and Programme Controls and a passion for the future of the profession Strong analytical and problem-solving skills An ability to build and maintain great relationships and a desire to network across KPMG Confident communication and presentation skillsA good spread of experience using different software/applications (e.g. Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Primavera P6, Slack, Clarizen)Relevant professional certification – e.g. APM PMQ/PPQ; MoP; MSP; PRINCE2
