An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Illingworth Library teamat Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust as an Assistant Librarian.
You will be a key member of the Illingworth Library team, providing Library & Knowledge services to the Trust. The Illingworth Library team are a fantastic team, who are valued for their knowledge, above and beyond approach, patience and resourcefulness.
You will be a qualified librarian, with excellent communication and customer care skills. Experienced in using online information databases, Microsoft Office applications and Social Media.
You will be a compassionate, accountable individual who treats all colleagues, patients and service users with respect and seeks to deliver excellence in their role. You will share the Trust values and be committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.

You will support the Knowledge & Library Service Manager in the delivery of services by:
- Managing the operational running of the library service, including overall management of day-to-day library enquiry, Inter library loans, cataloguing, withdrawals and circulation processes.
- Ensuring that people have access to the electronic library resources, when & where needed upon which to base clinical and management decisions.
- Promoting the use of library resources throughout the Trust.
- Delivering virtual and face-to-face training to ensure people make effective use of electronic resources in order to support evidence-based practice.
- Performing complex literature searches using high quality healthcare databases on behalf of library users to assist evidence-based practice.
- Delivering outreach services to promote evidence-based practice, underpin clinical activities, governance and service redesign by attending Trust meetings and groups.
- Working with the Knowledge & Library Service Manager to continually improve delivery of the Library Service to all Trust people and students.
