Assistant Director of Education
(Start date for September 2023, or earlier if applicable)

Hours: This is a full-time role (35 hours per week). Part-time working (minimum of 28 hours) may be considered for an exceptional candidate.
Salary: £60,000 per annum, subject to experience and qualifications
Location: Home based with regular travel within the Diocesan Boundary and regular attendance at the Diocesan Office, 53 New Street, Chelmsford, CM11AT

Your chance to join our high performing Diocesan Education Team by providing assistance and support to the Diocesan Board of Education, the Director of Education and to the wider Education Team.

We seek an individual who: -

  • Has significant senior leadership experience in a school or academy context
  • Has qualified teacher status with a degree or equivalent qualification
  • Has a proven track record of school improvement
  • Has an excellent understanding of curriculum and leadership in the primary and secondary phases.

This role would be especially suited to someone who is looking for a change in their professional career but wishes to stay in the Education Sector.

You should note, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement of being a practising Christian and a member of a church recognised by Churches Together in England and be fully committed to the aims and values of the Church of England, Diocese of Chelmsford, and the DBE..
