Job Description


What do we do in our Health Division?

NEC deliver health software and services across the UK, Ireland and India. Our applications support the health screening of Newborn Babies, and we support the the world’s biggest orthopaedic registry. We provide data and intelligence that enables better healthcare through the NHS and private providers. So pretty important stuff!!

We have embarked on an exciting programme of investment to upgrade and consolidate our product set onto a single core application platform based on Microsoft .Net and SQL Server. Looking forwards we are already deploying new solutions onto Azure and AWS.

We are now looking for an additional Associate level developer to join our busy healthcare development team. You will be working with us to further develop our screening and registries solutions, utilising some of the latest Microsoft and open source components.

This role is key to our platform development and will make a real difference to supporting the provision of healthcare solutions to our clients.

What you will be doing:

Design, build and configure health applications to meet requirements, with a focus on Health Screening applications.

Design and develop client – server Windows applications using C# / WPF / WCF and LINQ to SQL.

Have a strong architectural flair – able to design and implement new architectures that bear scrutiny

Maintain a strong adherence to existing architectural standards

Work to an Agile Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC)

Clarification of requirements in conjunction with Product Owners and Quality Assurance teams


Qualifications


What we are looking for:

  • Expert knowledge of object-oriented programming using C#
  • In-depth knowledge of client-server user-interface technologies WinForms and WPF are essential, including dependency properties, routed events, etc
  • Hands-on experience with service-oriented architectures, particularly WCF services
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server database design
  • In depth knowledge of SQL data access using both Stored Procedures and LINQ-to-SQL, including query optimization.
  • Experience of following Agile Software Delivery Life Cycle within Microsoft Azure Dev Ops server, including continuous build and integration.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience of following Agile Software Delivery Life Cycle within Microsoft Azure Dev Ops server, including continuous build and integration.
  • Experience of Health Screening applications (especially Diabetic Eye Screening)
  • Knowledge of front-end web development frameworks such as Angular and Blazor.
