Scope & Remit
In this role you will support the category manager & junior buyer on dress up to develop an inspiring product range which achieves group wide sales targets. This is a fun and varied category which covers a wide range of costumes and accessories for everyday and seasonal occasions. The successful candidate will need to have a positive ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced pressured environment.
Core Duties
- Work with the category manager and junior buyer on developing a customer centric range with the right price architecture and quality standards
- Manage weekly new lines report to ensure all new products are as described
- Manage weekly discontinued report to ensure products are resourced where needed
- Work closely with the Merchandising team to ensure products arrive on time
- Manage key line critical paths
- Action pricing increases and reductions as part of range reviews and consumer trends
- Negotiating product costs to achieve best prices and meet department strategy
- Build and maintain supplier relationships, understanding their strengths and weaknesses in line with the departments sourcing strategy
- Attending supplier meetings to develop and source new product
- Understanding of the market place, target customer and key competitors
- Understands department strategy, frameworks and spend plans with the support of Buying & Merchandising
- Support team with creation of showcases and briefs
- Responsible for organising samples for shoots ensuring deadlines are met alongside visual merchandisers
- Point of contact for interdepartmental queries ensuring strong relationships are formed
- Support buying with adhoc tasks
Knowledge, Training and Experience Required
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive with ability to prioritise and work within tight timescales
- Super positive, energetic, and enthusiastic with a creative mind, bursting with ideas and willing to ‘go the extra mile’
- Flexible & able to Multi-task – ability to adjust to work processes or procedures, adapt to others, work effectively and in a positive manner when under pressure or in ambiguous situations
- Strong experience with Excel and analytical skills

£23,000 to £25,000

Role is hybrid - 3 days in the office / 2 days at home
