Magnetic Operative / Production operative / Electro-mechanical Assembler- Barnstaple
Hours: Day-shifts, Monday-Thursday
Salary: Negotiable depending on experience + benefits

Acorn is currently recruiting for a well-established business specialising in the manufacture of electromagnetic components, printed-circuit board assemblies, cabinet wiring, and electronic test equipment for safety-critical applications in aerospace and defence, industrial and transportation industries.

This role is to work within the Production areas to support the Manufacturing process by making and adapting ground cores and associated parts.

Key responsibilities:

Machine grinding, setting of magnetic cores and associated parts in association of relevant risk assessments
Upkeep and control of machinery associated with the machining and grinding of magnetic cores
Control and usage of electronic and mechanical equipment used in the control of core grinding machining and set up
Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times, and ensure yourself and others in your working areas are safe and not exposed to significant risk
Personal safety and control in the relation of rotating machinery
Lock-out and control of rotating equipment
Competent in the use, setup, and daily maintenance machines used in the grinding and control set-up process
Mechanical machine servicing
Control of cleaning fluids

Core role requirements:

Magnetic Product Manufacture background
Understanding of metric and imperial measurements using gauges and tools, such as micrometer Vernier dial gauges
Understanding and competency in rotating machinery
Understanding and competency in the usage of various test equipment in relation to measuring resistances and inductances
Basic use of ERP system
