Reporting into the Area Delivery Manager this role will drive performance across the delivery organisation.

You will be accountable for:
- Provide operational cover for the Area Delivery Manager and lead the division in their absence ensuring seven-day leadership for the division.
- By understanding how they can improve each measure of customer experience at every touchpoint of the final mile along the customer journey the Area Operations Manager will coach Regional Delivery Managers and Community Managers to drive future performance.
- Inputting into the creation of a performance development strategy for the Field Team by making recommendations for improvements in training and associated materials and ensuring the successful implantation of this strategy through coaching to drive continuous improvement of performance across the delivery organisation.
- Responsible for the implementation of changes to performance and the successful adoption against the division.
- To provide financial and performance analytical insight for the division to support the Area Delivery Manager to make key operational changes that improve our operation that in turn increase customer and client satisfaction
- Responsible for setting and monitoring planning across the division by working with the Regional Delivery Managers and utilising Resource Planners to ensure the successful delivery of Peak periods (inclusive of volume, sub-depot review, round modelling etc).
- Being the resource and coverage planning lead for the area by working with relevant stakeholders to ensure successful delivery that will drive customer and client satisfaction
- Being the functional specialist for the planning team within your division by setting expectation and demand to allow for efficient running of the operation within your area
- Shared responsibility for all operational business standards across the division with the Area Delivery Manager by working with the Division Manager and Commercial Managers to ensure that standards are set and conduct checks in place to ensure the most efficient route to market, client requirements and competitor requirements understood.
- Responsible with the Area Delivery Manager for the successful strengthening and maintenance of divisional union relationships.
- Working with the Area Delivery Manager they are responsible for the implementation of changes to performance documentation through guidance and coaching of the Regional Delivery Managers and Community Delivery Managers.
To be successful in this role you will require the following…
Qualifications:
- Current UK Driving licence
- IOSH Qualification or equivalent
Knowledge & Experience:
- Knowledge of self-employed courier model
- Previous experience of working in a customer focussed industry
- Previous experience of setting and managing a budget
- Previous experience of coaching, supporting and motivating colleagues
- Problem solving and planning effective contingencies and solutions
Technical & People Skills:
- Customer Focused approach
- Competent negotiation skills
- Ability to adapt to different styles and behaviours
