Brief overview of role
Looking for a career in finance and accounts? Based on Pride Park, Derby, Document Network Services are recruiting a Finance Apprentice! Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support with a range of duties, including raising invoices, processing supplier invoices in Sage & Vantage Online, creating financial statements and bank reconciliations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Finance:
- Monitor accounts mailbox.
- Raising sales invoices for deals & contracts
- Process and payment of supplier invoices in the cloud based managed print software, Vantage Online Vantage and accounting software, Sage
- Meter read collection & invoicing
- Sales & purchase ledger statements
- Direct debit collections
- Inter-company transfers
- Credit card / bank reconciliations
- Credit control to ensure cash flow into business
- Contract termination calculations
- Nominal code & project code checks – month end
- Sales reward claims
Administrative:
- Inputting tickets into Vantage online
- Answering incoming calls
- Taking deliveries
Training
The apprentice will be enrolled on the Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes 6 AAT exams, in addition to the Synoptic Assessment as part of the End-Point Assessment(EPA) process.
The knowledge units will be delivered at the EMA training hub in Derby or Nottingham (depending on apprentices location) through day release.
AAT Modules are as follows:
- Bookkeeping Transactions (L2 Unit)
- Bookkeeping Controls (L2 Unit)
- Advanced Bookkeeping
- Final Accounts Preparation
- Management Accounting: Costing
- Indirect Tax
Career Progression
Upon completion of the apprenticeship, there is a full-time opportunity available, and potential to continue studying at level 4. DNS have a proven track record of progressing apprentices into full-time staff members, and are keen to do so for someone who can demonstrate technical competence, initiative and a willingness to learn.
