Crossword Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented, and organized individual to join our clients team as a Process Applications Engineer. This position will by hybrid working from both home and office base. The position holds the opportunity to grow to lead the technical engineering department within the business.

This truly is exciting and enables you to develop your already proven experience with an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and engineering innovative products and enable customers to drive manufacturing process efficiency, minimising energy use, reducing carbon emissions and cutting costs in their factories, ovens, dryers and thermal processes, through bespoke optimisation waste heat recovery and energy efficiency solutions and systems.
Essential Duties
- undertaking site investigations and process measurements.
- preparing detailed calculations to develop the design and be responsible for accuracy of these calculations.
- Prepare process flow diagrams, equipment specifications, process descriptions and P&IDs for review and approval.
- Keeping abreast of new legislations on plant design and performance.
- Ability to undertake design of thermal process systems and equipment in air, water, steam and thermal oil.
- Ensuring a high standard of safety is maintained (both process and site installation) and environmental and quality assurance processes are followed.
- Managing time effectively, ensuring that goals and requirements of the project are met and issues are effectively communicated and resolved.
- Ability to support Sales and take initiative and be accountable for assigned tasks and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrating a 'can do' attitude to the team and to customers and stakeholders.
- Providing technical innovation and a keenness to move the company forward in terms of continuous improvement.
- Business travel throughout the UK, and possibly further afield, to meet customers at their production sites.
- Hybrid working both from home and office based.
Qualifications:
- Experience
- Experience of process simulation, preparation of standard process documents such as PFDs/UFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, duty specs, CEDs, process narratives etc.
- Strong technical experience working in processes engineering.
- Experience working in a project environment in manufacturing process industries especially those involving ovens, dryers and thermal oxidisers.
- Working knowledge and understanding of thermal processes.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Thermo-Dynamics, Mechanical Engineering or similar with proven experience.
