Calling all coders, tech enthusiasts and lovers of robotics! Apply now for a genuinely unique opportunity to innovate within an emerging team and push the boundaries of technology. Join our ATC team and play a vital role in developing state of the art autonomous software.
Our Opportunity
A relatively new business unit is experiencing rapid and exciting growth and needs your help to deliver on some key projects and cool solutions. The Autonomy Technology Centre was established a year ago and requires multiple Robotics Software Engineers to support Thales and its partners to bring autonomous capabilities to the market.
So what are autonomous systems? Autonomous systems can respond to real world conditions automatically and adapt to dynamic environments, evolving as the environment around it changes. Here at Thales, we've already been exploring autonomy across land, maritime, air and space. The growth of the ATC is the next step in helping our customers stay ahead of the autonomy curve.
What you'll do:
- Imagine, develop and deliver exciting autonomy software, enabling technologies for Thales and our customers.
- Take ownership of the entire software lifecycle by continuously designing, writing, testing, deploying and maintaining code.
This role offers genuine flexibility, with multiple locations and home working considered. Some travel is required on an ad hoc basis.
About you
Working with multiple stakeholders across the business, you’ll be a good communicator who enjoys participation in; events, live presentation recordings and collaborative team efforts. Operating within a close knit team, you will be ready to make innovative and impactful contributions to assist with the rapid growth of the unit.
No formal qualifications are required, just a genuine interest in ‘cool tech’ and robotics, alongside a willingness to push the boundaries and try out new ideas. While some coding experience would be advantageous, an appetite to learn is key.
Additional Security Information
Due to the sensitive nature of much of the work, all applicants must be eligible for UK MoD Security Clearance (SC level minimum).

Your health and well-being matters to us and that’s why we offer you the flexibility to do what’s important to you; whether that’s part time hours, job sharing, home working, or the ability to flex your start and finish times. Where possible, we support a working pattern that suits your lifestyle and helps you reach your ambitions.
