- Ensure customers are classified in line with required regulations (FCA, KYC/CDD, MiFID) and sanctions
- Review new and existing counterparties by conducting analytical risk assessments and ensuring that verification documentation is maintained and escalated to the MLRO where appropriate through dedicated reporting lines
- Thoroughly and succinctly document research and analysis related to due diligence, for an audience that includes Management, Regulators, Internal Audit, and Internal Compliance
- Investigate high-risk counterparties/clients, transactions and report adverse findings and compliance risks with recommendations to the MLRO
- Investigating alerts raised by our transaction monitoring systems, analysing customer accounts to identify risk or suspicious activity, and recording your decisions in a clear and concise rationale
- Reviewing and taking action on escalations from the frontline customer operations team
- Advise and support Commercial teams on compliance-related matters, especially on anti-money laundering topics
- Facilitate the development of a culture that is conducive to minimizing the risk of regulatory failure
- Assist with developing KYC Compliance monitoring systems and procedures as new rules and legislation are introduced or as required by the MLRO
- Proactively scan and research compliance-related policy developments, keep the business informed and updated on compliance issues
