Job description

About OhentPay

At OhentPay, we’re on a mission to build a global exchange and settlement network that allows anyone to send money anywhere in the world, and receive value instantly. We provide FX, liquidity and banking services to consumers, businesses and regulated fintechs.

The role

We are looking for an AML Analyst whose role will involve Know Your Customer checks / Customer Due Diligence (KYC/CDD) and Anti-Money Laundering duties as well as monitoring OhentPay’s regulatory requirements. You will also help to identify and mitigate regulatory risks across the business while promoting a proactive compliance culture.

Responsibilities will include

  • Carry out client due diligence using a wide range of databases and search facilities to identify PEPs, SOEs and sanctions (including analysing documents provided by clients and advising whether further information or enhanced due diligence is required)
  • Ensure customers are classified in line with required regulations (FCA, KYC/CDD, MiFID) and sanctions
  • Review new and existing counterparties by conducting analytical risk assessments and ensuring that verification documentation is maintained and escalated to the MLRO where appropriate through dedicated reporting lines
  • Thoroughly and succinctly document research and analysis related to due diligence, for an audience that includes Management, Regulators, Internal Audit, and Internal Compliance
  • Investigate high-risk counterparties/clients, transactions and report adverse findings and compliance risks with recommendations to the MLRO
  • Investigating alerts raised by our transaction monitoring systems, analysing customer accounts to identify risk or suspicious activity, and recording your decisions in a clear and concise rationale
  • Reviewing and taking action on escalations from the frontline customer operations team
  • Advise and support Commercial teams on compliance-related matters, especially on anti-money laundering topics
  • Facilitate the development of a culture that is conducive to minimizing the risk of regulatory failure
  • Assist with developing KYC Compliance monitoring systems and procedures as new rules and legislation are introduced or as required by the MLRO
  • Proactively scan and research compliance-related policy developments, keep the business informed and updated on compliance issues

Who we’re looking for

  • You have experience working in operational financial crime - or think that you have other relevant experience that we should consider
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT regulations, general AML principles, and their application to the regulated institutions
  • Clear understanding of UK (preferably European) laws and regulations in relation to AML, regulatory compliance and risk
  • You are interested in current trends in financial crime
  • You love connecting the dots and solving problems
  • Demonstrate strong investigatory and analytical skills in assessing risks or concerns
  • You are comfortable making judgment-based decisions in a changing environment
  • In-depth understanding of Electronic Money business models
  • You have, or are interested in studying for, a professional qualification from the International Compliance Association (ICA), Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) or an equivalent body
