Android Developer – UK (Remote) - £48,000
(MUST HAVE FULL RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK STATUS ALREADY IN PLACE)
This is a remote position with office meetings/workshops once in a while.

This is where you come in! We are looking to hire mobile developers with experience in building applications in Android with an AWS server less stack. You will be able to take the lead on feature development, working with the wider team to define and drive the solution.
About the role:
As an Android Developer, you will have the opportunity to build solutions that engage millions of users worldwide. Working with a wide range of data sources and native technologies, building custom UI experiences for our Flare aware mobile App and SDK
You will progress your own skills and expertise along the way, sharing and learning new technologies and techniques across the team. At Flare, we pride ourselves in providing a collaborative environment that ensures we produce leading products across web and native applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Producing Android code to a high standard that not only functions correctly but can be understood and extended by other members of the team
- Showing good attention to detail in the final product, taking care and pride in what is produced
- Communicating clearly both technically and creatively, to ensure the best possible solutions are built
- Managing test releases for internal and external use
- Developing own skills to get as many aspects of Android development to an expert level, as possible
- Sharing of ideas and techniques across the team, contributing to and learning from the team as a whole
- Raise the bar on quality, consistency, maintainability, efficiency, security and all the other things that make great software
- Help define engineering best practices and provide technical mentorship to other members of the engineering team
Tech Skills and Requirements
- Expertise in Kotlin/Java for Android
- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years of programming experience with at least 2 or more of these languages and technologies: AWS tech stack (AWS Amplify, AWS Lambda, GraphQL), Android SDK or Android Studio
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
- Experience with React Native is desirable

- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including
- Agile methodologies, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical customers in order to understand ambiguous problems and articulate technical designs and solutions to complex problem
