About the role:

The Falmouth Hotel

As the Painter and Decorator you are accountable for maintaining the painted finishes throughout the building. Some of the key processes include but are not limited to:

  • Being able to apply paint, stain, varnish, enamel etc. to property walls, ceilings, and furniture.
  • Experiernce of tyling
  • Able to effectively use brushes or rollers of all sizes.
  • Responsible for maintaining property colour scheme specifications.
  • Responsible for maintaining and match shades of particular areas.
  • Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as bare wood or metal, for finish coats.
  • Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water.
  • Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate wet paint signs.
  • Clean up and store paint and painting tools and equipment in appropriate areas.
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
  • Take care of the area when the front of the house area-painting job is being carried out.
  • Make rounds of the restaurant and other public areas and perform touch up as required.
  • Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Any other job or duties assigned by the management as and when required.
  • Prerequisites:
  • Able to speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate and professional language.
  • Discuss work topics, activities, or problems with co-workers, supervisors, or managers.
  • General maintenance as required.
  • Any other reasonable task within the post holders capabilities.

About you:

Ideally you have already gained work experience in the same or similar role, preferably within a hotel environment. You are passionate about painting and decorating and motivated to change and grow.

This is Monday to Sunday job. Some weekend work will be required.

Salary: £23,500.00 per year
