Background to the role
Our internal National Technology team manage and deliver our IT, data and digital solutions. We’ve built a group of skilled, tech-savvy individuals to support both our ambitious growth plans and day-to-day operations.
The Data Analytics team is responsible for RSM’s enterprise data platform, providing a single source of data for analytics and insights used across the firm, as well as capabilities to support internal and external service lines in the development of their analytics use cases.
As part of ongoing investment in RSM’s IT and digital capabilities, the need has arisen for an experienced master data administrator to join our Data Analytics team.
This exciting opportunity within the Data Analytics team will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and consistency of our data. You will be responsible for the accurate maintenance and optimisation of the company’s master data management system, ensuring employee and client master data is accurate, reliable, and secure. You will be an advocate for data quality and enjoy solving data problems through root cause analysis to help drive business action.
The master data administrator will be expected to:
- Configure and maintain data quality rule logic for reactive identification of issues
- Proactively resolve unexpected or unusual values in data sets
- Build strong relationships between the various RSM UK business units and the IT data technology teams
- Possess good attention to detail and drive for accuracy
- Review, and update master and reference data
- Be highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated
- Understand how to develop dashboards, reports, and other visualisations for stakeholders
- Develop and maintain Matching & Survivorship logic
- Develop and maintain Hierarchy & Relationship logic
- Develop and maintain Fast Apps & Workflows
Candidate

Methodical and able to multi-task whilst working under tight deadlines, you will need the ability to engage, influence and drive change across the firm. An analytical mindset that can break down and solve complex problems and turn them into optimal solutions is critical.
Essential skills and experience
- Good understanding of data lineage, master data, metadata, and data quality standards
- Experience in one or more data governance practices (Metadata, Data Quality and Data Access Management)
- Experienced in creating data quality (data validation) rules
- Passionate about unlocking the benefits of accurate, available data to drive measurable business impact
- Good attention to detail and accuracy working with data
- Be confident and self-motivated, energetic, and engaging#
- Ability to work in a team environment and to use own initiative
- Proven ability to deliver accurate, relevant, and timely information
Desirable skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required, with the ability to effectively influence stakeholders
- Data analysis skills, using tools such as Power BI, QlikView, Sisense, Tableau
- Experience with master data management tools (e.g. Profisee)
- Prior experience with Data Cataloguing tools (e.g. Azure Purview)
- Exposure to, and an understanding of Data Governance concepts and practices, especially the Data Management Association’s Data Management Body of Knowledge (DAMA-DMBOK)
- Knowledge and experience of GDPR obligations and how these apply to data governance
- Experience of working within an Agile methodology
- Experience working in finance and/or professional services environments
