About This Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Administrator/ Health Care Assistant to join the team at in the Turner Diagnostic Centre (TDC) at Colchester General Hospital.
Turner Diagnostic Centre. The Turner Diagnostic centre is a new purpose built multi-modality imaging centre which opened in 2018, and is based in the grounds of the Colchester General Hospital, a busy NHS site.
Colchester has good rail links and the hospital is situated close to the railway station.
The role will involve meeting and greeting patients for MRI and preparing them for their scan and assisting the radiographers.As well as patient support, there will be administrative tasks as part of our IT patient management processes.
To be successful in this role you must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills. A flexible, organized and enthusiastic attitude is essential with a good attention to detail.
The hours will be 40 hours per week working Monday-Sunday – predominantly working 12 hour shifts.

Required Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills. A flexible, organized and enthusiastic attitude is essential with a good attention to detail.
You should have experience in a Healthcare environment as they will be required to provide both administration and customer/patient, support including chaperoning patients and assisting the MRI Radiographers throughout the MRI scanning process.
And have a commitment to all admin duties related to the patient pathway in line with standard guidelines. To be successful in this role they must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills and the ability to understand and comply with radiation protection protocols. Excellent patient care skills are essential.
We also support the scanner at the Clacton CDH based at the Clacton & District Hospital – so some clinical shifts may be at Clacton
We are a busy site, closely linked to the NHS, processing and booking 80+ appointments a day for 4 MRI scanners.
You will need to be able to work with a high degree of accuracy and under pressure, meeting deadlines and turn- around times.
