What is a typical day like in the role of a Group Operations Officer?

You will spend your day on a variety of activities, you will be talking to our members, building a relationship with them in order to help them with their enquires, ensuring their network requirements are kept up to dated, helping new members with their joining process or supporting our field team on a variety of issues whilst ensuring that internal systems remain accurate with relevant information.

What skills and knowledge would you need to possess?

You do not need prior financial services experience, as you will be trained in the role and given all relevant support required. You will need to have prior customer service and administrative experience. What is important is to have a positive can-do attitude, be willing to learn quickly and be hands on in your approach. This is a small team so there will always be some additional ad-hoc tasks, however giving advice to members will always be your first priority.

What will be the key objectives ahead?

The main objective is excellent communication with advisers and adviser firms, building relationships with them to increase knowledge and awareness of the service to encourage them in the habit of keeping up with their regulatory requirements. A close second is being very well organised and having excellent administration skills.
