Due to the variety of cultures we have at our care home (staff and residents) we are looking for someone who will help us to celebrate and embrace this variety of cultures.
The role involves planning person-centred events and activities for elderly residents, to improve their quality of life and combat loneliness. Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience working with older people, in a similar environment.
We have a large number of residents from a wide diversity of cultures, therefore knowledge of different cultures would be an advantage.
Duties include:
- To ensure all the different cultures within Abbotsford have their needs met in terms of religious and social needs.
- Ensure we are meeting the communication needs of our non-English speaking residents, to the best of our ability.
- To organise social and recreational events within and without the home.
- To lead group activities including bingo, quizzes, reminiscence etc.
- To provide inspiration resources and ideas to care staff for group and one to one social events.
- You will need to be well organised and whilst you should be a good team player you should also be able to work on your own initiative and be able to follow instruction.

Hours up to 20 hours per week with a flexible rota.
Salary: £9.50 per hour
