And right now, we are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee our Overheads team. You will be line managing a team of up to 4 staff who between them will be processing up to 50,000 invoices per year via Coupa and Dream.

You will support your team with empathy and encouragement to achieve their objectives and reach their maximum potential. You will ensure your team completes tasks in a timely manner, identify process improvements and implement those change as required. Additionally, you will provide MI weekly to the Group Finance Controller.

Main Responsibilities
  • Management of the day-to-day AP tasks including monitoring of the performance of the AP Clerks.
  • Supporting the team to fulfil their objectives, including providing ongoing training.
  • Manage team absence to ensure all team workflow is completed without interruption.
  • Monitoring of numerous workflow queues and reallocating AP resource where necessary to address highest priority items.
  • Ensure supplier payments are made on time, reporting reasons for payment over terms.
  • Maintaining relationships with business partners and assist with any queries as they arise.
  • Managing the Supplier Engagement project to work with key suppliers and onboard them to the Coupa Supplier Portal in order to enable electronic invoicing.
  • Monitoring key supplier accounts to ensure no delays are experienced – this includes regular liaison with these suppliers and reconciliations of statements to ensure all invoices are processed.
  • Ensuring all month end reconciliations are prepared and approved within the reporting deadline.
  • Review the Aged Creditors report to clear down queried balances in a timely fashion.
  • Producing weekly MI reports, providing commentary on movements and creating action plans for KPIs requiring attention.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Accounts Payable operations experience.
  • Team management experience with effective communication skills.
  • Reporting via Excel data manipulation.
  • People management experience ideal but not essential.
  • Organised, methodical, task focused and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of conducting performance reviews.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
