Accounts Assistant - Group
The Accounts Assistant- Group role will be responsible for key processes across the Group around bank reconciliations, stock dispatch alignment to sales, intercompany transactions across the group and reporting from Salesforce. This role will also support the Group’s Management Accountants at month end and will therefore provide an excellent development opportunity for the right person in this role.
Main Responsibilities:
- Follow a standardised process for the daily posting of all transactions from the bank statements into the accounting system within the Group and ensuring that cash is posted and reconciled on a daily basis.
- Produce weekly bank reconciliations for review by Management Accountants and post the reconciling items on a regular basis ahead of month end.
- Review the consistency of stock dispatched and sales in the month.
- Working alongside the Group Accountant, ensure intercompany balances are reviewed on a weekly basis; and work to identify, investigate and align intercompany balances across the group at month end.
- Supporting the Management Accountants with routine month-end reporting from Salesforce such as reporting failed payments.
- Supporting the Group Accountant on projects such as IFRS conversion and implementation of the new financial system.
- Working with the Group Accountant to anchor policy for fixed assets capitalisation ensuring consistency across the Group.
- Supporting the Management Accountants with month-end tasks such as fixed asset register, loan interest and contributing to the closing of month end as per Group reporting deadlines.
- To contribute to the continuous process improvement of accounting processes and management information for the Group.
Experience and attributes:
- Good accounting knowledge gained via a University degree in Accounts or Finance and experience gained as an accounts assistant or analyst.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced finance team to strict deadlines.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage workload with a timely escalation of queries.
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiatives for problem-solving.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical skills
This is a Hybrid role that will be based out of our soon to open office in Sheffield.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £27,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
