OCDE’s Family Support Services Services Unit is responsible for processing all payments for all contracted Orange County Child care providers enrolled with our subsidized program. Attendance sheets, prepared by childcare providers and participating families, are submitted to the unit for audit and approval. The Senior Accounting Technician approves the reimbursement of checks, reviews attendance sheets for legality and Title 5 compliance, and practices high volume of customer service.

Responsibilities:
- This individual is responsible for reviewing and processing a variety of accounting and financial documents from childcare providers and participating families.
- The person selected must have experience monitoring the general ledger for income contracts and agreements;
- Working with various childcare providers and staff;
- Monitoring expenditures and revenue;
- Processing Child Care provider invoices;
- Receiving invoices and provider certificates,
- Verify allowable hours based on various agency and state regulations;
- Calculate payment amount based on provider rates, non-operational days, and client’s eligibility status; prepare payments within established timeframes.
- The Senior Accounting Technician will also, review, ensure accuracy, and approve account coding, and/or other financial data.
