APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR THE FOLLOWING VACANCIES:

FIREFIGHTER

Reporting to the Senior Airport Fire Officer (SAFO) the main duties are:

• To save and preserve endangered life at incidents.
• Extinguish fire at aircraft incidents.
• Maintain operational readiness and resources.
• Prevent the occurrence of emergencies through management of aerodrome hazards and risks.
• Implement action to resolve operational incidents.
• Contain and control spillage or release of hazardous materials.
• Take responsibility for effective performance.
• Maintain activities to meet requirements.
• Investigate and Report on events to inform future practice.
• To maintain all relevant skills in accordance with the aerodrome maintenance of competence scheme.
• To carry out any extraneous duties as detailed by the SAFO.
• To comply with all relevant Health and Safety instructions as per aerodrome policies.

Essential skills required:

• Be flexible and adaptable. (this position will involve shift work including weekends and also additional hours at short notice)
• Be open to change.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Be physically fit.
• Have the ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable skills required:

• Possess a Health and Safety qualification.
• Firefighting experience.
• Possess a current LGV Category C or C+E licence.

This is a full-time position based on a rotating shift pattern which covers weekend work and Bank Holidays.

Salary for the role is subject to qualifications and experience.
