Assistant Accountant

Salary: £25,000 - £31,000

Location: Hull

Are you a keen studying ACCA/CIMA part qualified accountant who would like to join a nationally known brand and one of Hull's own success stories? My client is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their talented finance team, initially for a 12 month FTC, although there is high likelihood of the role becoming a permanent appointment.

THE ROLE:

Working closely with and reporting into the Group FP and A Manager the successful applicant will undertake a range of duties suitable for a part qualified ACCA/CIMA studier including:

Complete month end accounts for the cost centres owned within this role

Assist the Group FP&A Manager with the monthly financial accounting and reporting process

Ensure the production, delivery, understanding and presentation of insightful financial analysis

Act as a business partner to budget holders, providing support and challenge on costs

Support the forecasting and budgeting process, support the external audit process, work in collaboration across finance and Group functions

Contribute to a wide range of projects and initiatives as required and support the finance transformation workstream by helping with process simplification and reducing manual processes

THE CANDIDATE:

An articulate communicator with attention to detail you will have previous experience of preparing management accounts, process improvement and ideally financial planning and analysis

You have strong IT skills, particularly with Excel and enjoy taking ownership of your own work. A confident team player who enjoys working collaboratively, you would love to work for a well known national name while continuing with your studies to professionally qualify as an accountant.
