As a successful IT Sales Account Manager you will have previous experience of managing both existing and new business, maximising sales and profitability, and be able to demonstrate a track record of selling infrastructure and networking solutions You should work to satisfy customers’ needs and requests, respond to their queries in a timely manner and aspire to deliver a positive customer experience. You should have excellent communication and negotiation skills and be customer service oriented.

The role will require an understanding of current IT issues and an appreciation of Cloud technologies, SAN and Blade Technology. Working alongside the main IT vendors, personal accreditations with Cisco, HP, Microsoft or similar would be valued.

You will also possess drive, determination and the presentation and communication skills to liaise, pitch and influence at senior levels whilst representing the company in a positive and professional manner. Ultimately, you should look to grow the business by building successful, long-term client relationships.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of successful IT sales experience
  • Outstanding customer facing skills
  • Drive, energy, and initiative
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills
  • Ability to identify and engage potential new prospects from all industry sectors
  • Willing to contribute to a team environment
  • Ability to provide accurate information to Sales Management within agreed timescale

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success
  • Develop positive relationships with clients
  • Act as the point of contact and handle customers’ individual needs
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to customers in a timely manner
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions
  • Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives
  • Monitor sales metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth
