Role and Team
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and timely billing, collections, and customer support. You will work closely with customers, auction personnel and the Director of Finance to maintain effective communication channels and upload our commitment to excellence. Your responsibilities will include billing, collections, training, process documentation, payment reconciliation, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Timely billing of centralized retail reconditioning accounts as requested by customer.
- Engage directly with customers to facilitate collections of accounts.
- Conduct training sessions via Zoom for new auctions added to each account.
- Develop new process documents for new accounts or revise existing process documents as needed.
- Collaborate with new customers to set up their centralized invoice.
- Reconcile payments received with outstanding accounts receivable promptly and provide accurate information to the payment applications team.
- Attend operational meetings so you are well informed on what's happening with each account.
- Practice and promote teamwork, leading by example with a positive attitude and strong performance.
- Maintain a high degree of communication with auctions, team members, customers, and the Director of Finance
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, proactively resolving problems as they arise.
- Handle customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner, escalating serious incidents to the Director of Finance.
- Fulfill other duties as required to support the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years work experience working with customers, billing and collections
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong excel skills required; including but not limited to vlookup function and pivot tables
- PeopleSoft experience is recommended, but not required
- Proven ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive information
- Proven ability to manage deliverables and metrics against aggressive targets and timelines
- Proficiency with computer systems and applications
