NHS Lothian has a vacancy in the Learning Disabilities Inpatient Service for a part time (0.6wte), fixed term for 1 year, band 4 Assistant Psychologist.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
The Learning Disabilities Psychology Service provides comprehensive psychological assessment and therapies to adults with learning disabilities in the City of Edinburgh, East, Mid and West Lothian.
The assistant psychologist will assist qualified psychologists in the provision of the clinical psychology service and this may require working in hospitals, clients’ homes, residential or day centres. The assistant psychologist will be involved in routine clinical work, such as, circumscribed low intensity psychological interventions, or direct patient care (either individual or group work) under the close supervision of the clinical psychologists and in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
The post is employed within NHS Lothian and there may be a requirement to work flexibly across Lothian to meet service demands.
