Overview

PepsiCo is looking for a Zone Owner to join our Walkers site in Lincoln!

Position summary:
Salary: £35,821.74 per annum per annum (inclusive of shift allowance)

Working Hours: Continental shift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 2 x Day shifts (05:45-18:00) followed by 2 x Night Shifts (17:45-06:00), then 4 days off. Working an average of 42 hours a week, plus an additional 15 minutes per shift to complete a handover.
Location: 255 Newark Road, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN5 8XN

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:
  • Coach/ Mentor the General Operators (GO's) in sustained delivery of all EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), Food Safety, Quality, IPS (Integrated Production Systems), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) site and legislative requirements
  • Responsible for co-ordinating and prioritising the activities and resources (across their zones) to ensure efficient utilisation
  • Accountable for ensuring that the zone standards are maintained through continual process verification
  • Accountable for identification of gaps and building capability in the zones through training and coaching using SWPs (safe work procedure) and IPS
  • Influence and facilitate by utilising problem solving techniques to identify and resolve root causes
  • Generate data and identify trends and systemic issues to drive improvement
  • Provides governance and mentoring to GOs to ensure robust performance in the zones
  • Responsible for the identification & escalation of continual improvement opportunities to the standard ways of working (IPS, SWPs etc, or standard work where deployed)
  • Accountable for facilitating the hourly zone QCDM (Quality, Cost, Delivery & Morale) meeting and responsible for proactive contribution in the 4 hourly QCDM meeting
  • Responsible for collaborating with other zone owners and Operational Team Leader (OTL) to ensure end to end line performance (within manufacturing environment)
  • Zone at Standard ( QCDM) at all times

Qualifications

What we are looking for:
A natural leader, able to engage and motivate a team of people whilst setting clear health and safety, quality and food safety standards. Someone with a can do attitude, who is adaptable, flexible and a willingness to learn more. A proven problem solver, who has a track record of driving efficiency and achieving savings through continuous improvement within a food manufacturing environment.

Minimum skills & Experience:
  • Good English and Mathematics
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with an organised, methodical and proactive approach
  • Team Leader or similar roles
  • Demonstrable evidence of coaching and or mentoring of teams or individuals
  • Demonstrable evidence problem solving (Lean Methodologies)

Preferred (but not essential) Qualifications:
  • IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)
  • Production machinery, setting up, running & minor key adjustment setting
  • Food supplement or food manufacturing
