H&F Youth Justice Service is a dedicated, capable and confident service where children have every opportunity to move away from crime. Our YJS team is responsible for working in a multi-agency team to ensure that children at risk of or who have become involved in offending, their parents/carers and those directly affected by their behaviour are effectively safeguarded and supported, enabling them to lead positive lives. We are committed to maintaining a high-quality service to children and families and most recently received an “Outstanding” rating following an inspection by HMIP.



Chief Inspector of Probation Justin Russell said: “We were impressed with how staff at the service work with children under their supervision, and their parents or carers, to understand their circumstances and drive them toward positive futures”

Role Responsibilities:

To provide a service in line with statutory requirements and departmental priorities.



This role involves working with children, young people and families at risk or involved in the criminal justice system, with support and scope to make a change to the lives of vulnerable young people.



You will need to:
1. Participate in training as required in the interests of the service overall and of career development.



2. Participate in supervision.



3. Participate in team meetings, risk management, safety and well-being, and compliance panels.



4. Participate in duty, court and late-night rota within specific role and provide cover for leave or absences when necessary.



5. Participate in recording contacts with young people, the writing of Presentence or other reports and using new technology where appropriate.
