The Occupational and Fitness Therapy team in Secure and Forensic inpatient Services is looking for a motivated and experiencedOccupational Therapy Assistant Practitionerfor 12 months to cover an internal secondment at Northside House, based in Norwich. Northside House has three wards, two medium (Catton and Drayton) and one low secure (Blakeney). The post holder would be linked to Blakeney ward, but may be asked to work across other wards dependent on service need.
Your role would be to take a Recovery-focussed approach to instil hope, inspire confidence, and work collaboratively with service users to build on life skills andmeet their individual goals. You will work alongside the wider MDT, Service users, Occupational Therapists and Fitness Therapy Technical Instructors, to assess and work towards people's rehabilitation aims.

As a part of the wider NSFT Secure Services OFT team, the post-holder will receive regular clinical and management supervision, and also professional and governance support from within our knowledgeable, friendly and supportive team.

You will be required to attend MDT discussions such as Clinical Reviews, deputising for the Occupational Therapist when needed/appropriate. You will also be asked to contribute to Occupational Therapy assessments, such as MOHOST, under the guidance of a registered Occupational Therapist.
We are looking for someone who has experience of working with adult mental health service users and can adapt their skills to work with our client group.
Secondments will be considered.
