Our client, a subcontract electronics manufacturer, is looking for a SMT Operator (Surface Mount Operator) to join their existing team. This is a great opportunity to join a local company manufacturing electronic components that are used globally in a wide range of industries!
As a SMT Operator, you will be required to carry out various duties such as:
- To build PCBAs using SMT equipment IAW work instructions & procedures provided
- Check work completed for compliance before passing to the next stage
- Ensure job history is accurately maintained/reported on all route cards the employee works on
- Proactively advise management of any issues that may affect delivery & or quality.
- Ensure that all Health and Safety, housekeeping, quality and environmental policies and procedures are adhered to.
The following experience is required:
- Sound knowledge of SMT assembly equipment & assembly processes
- Reading & understanding complex drawings and instructions.
- Awareness & understanding of AS9100/ISO9001.
- Awareness & understanding of ESD Controls.
- Good working knowledge of IPC-A-610 & IPC J-STD-001 preferred.
- Motivated, calm, and collected with ability to work under pressure.
- Good time management skills.
- Experience and knowledge of working in an electronics manufacturing environment
Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:30 and Friday 07:30–12:30. However, you will need to be flexible and be able to work on the early shift 06:00-14:00 and also on the late shift 14:00-22:30 if required.
The pay for this role is between £11.00 - £12.00 per hour.
Candidates will be required to take a trade test prior as part of the interview process.
