The opportunity


Whatever your specific responsibilities and specialisms, as a Co-Ordinator you will be customer and delivery-focused, structured and organised in your approach, highly engaged and interactive with colleagues and beneficiaries of our work. You will take personal ownership of your work and will be proactive in your own development. You will be collaborative with colleagues and supportive of each other in achieving our collective targets and objectives.


Your key responsibilities


  • Organise and manage our Youth Advisory Board (YAB), to ensure their voices, lived experiences and insights inform and shape our work so we can better support and deliver greater impact for young people
  • Assist the two YAB young trustees to understand and meet their charitable governance and other responsibilities as trustees
  • Work closely with the COO and Head of Programmes and Regions to develop a Youth Engagement Framework and lead on its implementation
  • Lead on coproduction and engagement with young people from a variety of communities as required to help input into bids and programmatic development
  • Work closely with the communications team to manage our youth ambassadors and our Voice of Young People campaigns, capturing media and case studies where appropriate
  • Be a champion within and outside of the Foundation for young people and young people’s voices


Skills and attributes for success


What you will bring to the Foundation is your demonstrable experience and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Experience of working directly with young people or other cohorts/communities to promote and embed youth/user voices within organisations, including some understanding of asset-based approaches
  • Interest in social media and how different channels can be used to promote the voice of young people
  • Strong working knowledge and experience in an administrative or operational role
  • Delivering excellent customer service, to internal or external customers or service users
  • Working in a delivery-focused organisation
  • Co-ordinating multiple activities or tasks effectively
  • Developing compliance/quality processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with a range of people
  • Collaboration and flexibility in your team working, whilst also being able to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong and evidenced commitment to diversity
  • Strong commitment to improve the working lives and prospects of disadvantaged young people in the UK

You will be able to demonstrate the competences expected of an EY Foundation co-ordinator. Where you need more time to fully develop those competences, we will support you in so doing.
