Job description
We are looking to recruit experienced Class 2 (Cat C) HGV drivers who are looking to train to become fully qualified Class 1 (Cat C+E) HGV drivers, based at our distribution centre in Bristol - Avonmouth.
We offer a permanent full time position and have a variety of shift patterns available which usually include at least one weekend day.
Supported by our transport team and driver trainers you will gain all the knowledge you need to become a Class 1 (Cat C+E) driver at Farmfoods.
From there you’ll start your practical driver training and work towards achieving your Class 1 (Cat C+E) licence.
Once you have your licence your training will continue as you work alongside our experienced drivers and driver trainers making deliveries to our shops
Pay, working hours & benefits:
You will be paid £13.38 per hour until you obtain your class 1 driving licence, at which point your pay will increase to our standard driver rate of £15.59 per hour.
You will be guaranteed 45 hours work per week and if you’re looking to earn a bit more then overtime is regularly available.
The majority of our shifts start in the early hours of the morning and end early to late afternoon. In addition to your pay you will also benefit from:

As one of our drivers you will:
- Complete delivery drops to shops.
- Unload palletised goods from the vehicle using a powered pallet truck and tail lift.
- Collect waste and other items from the shop to return to the depot.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks
- Have a safe and efficient approach to driving.
You will need:
- Full UK driving licence (with Cat C entitlement).
- Digital tachograph & CPC card.
- No greater than 6 points on your driving licence with no dangerous driving or drink-related endorsements.
- A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
