Job description
We are looking for local talented actors for our new Hidden Gems character lead walking tour in York.
This is a fully scripted piece focusing on hidden gems around old York. With an expert eye and a keen sense of curiosity, our detective takes audiences on a thrilling adventure through this historical city, uncovering the hidden gems and secrets most people miss.
Our guide is a true expert in the art of exploration, always searching for the next hidden gem to uncover. Vibrancy and enthusiasm keep the group engaged and entertained throughout the tour as they share fascinating stories and insights about York's hidden treasures. Do not be fooled by their playful and quirky nature though – this character is a true detective, with a sharp wit and a nose for adventure. With their skilled guidance, audiences will discover secret spots that even locals don't know about.
Our eccentric detective is on the hunt for mysteries. A lively character, we need someone who can bring an energy and enthusiasm to the tour that is uplifting and entertaining, creating an unforgettable audience experience. This is effectively a one-person show; all eyes on you. We’re looking for strong actors who are super confident with a high energy – someone who will embody the character of our eccentric, witty and enthusiastic detective.
You'll need great outside projection, engaging storytelling abilities, and be a confident people manager. You'll also need to be comfortable working alone – and outside whatever the weather.
