Job description
Writer and Researcher
Job title: Writer and Researcher
Hours: Minimum 28 hours per week, up to 35 hours (full-time)
Contract: 12 months initially, with the potential for extension dependent on fundraising performance and ongoing business need
Salary: £24,423 pro rata, per annum, with annual pay award pending
Responsible to: Head of Development
Location: remote from home (or a mix of office and home working if local to Lancashire) - travel to Lancashire will be required for around 6 days per year to attend in person team days.
We're looking for a bold and caring person with an interest in mental health and wellbeing to join us, to support our Head of Development in attracting funding via charitable trusts and foundations. No previous experience in the fundraising sector is necessary, we’re looking for someone who has experience of completing research tasks, writing compelling narrative and who is good at relationship building.
We want someone who can work with teams across the organisation to gather an analyse data to identify gaps in provision and to demonstrate the impact of our services. You will then use this data to identify funders whose priorities match our needs and feed into the development of funding applications. You will build relationships with funders to ensure we have a good understanding of them before we make an application.
We want to be a great employer for all our staff, regardless of their background or characteristics. We recognise that not everyone is the same and that different people will require different support to fulfil their potential. One thing we can do to work towards that goal is to ensure that our staff team is representative of the diverse communities across
Lancashire. We particularly encourage applications from people in communities that face mental health inequalities and from anyone with experience of living with a mental health condition.
Lancashire Mind offers a 35-hour working week, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), additional leave between Christmas and New Year, a workplace pension scheme, sick pay scheme, paid emergency time off to care for dependents, an Employee Assistance
Programme, regular supervision and a variety of learning and development opportunities.
