Job description
**CVs AND EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE VISIT NO LIMITS WEBSITE FOR FULL JOB DESCRIPTION AND TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE**
No Limits is the leading youth services charity in Southampton, supporting children and young people in the city and across Hampshire.
We are looking for an experienced administrator to join our Admin Office, based at our Head Office in Southampton. The role is 37 hours per week, but happy to discuss flexible working / job share with the right candidate.
You will have experience of working with confidential and sensitive information, communicating with young people, family members and professionals on the phone or in writing, and accurately entering data and information onto a database.
As part of the team, you will also be dealing with referrals coming into our Therapeutic Services team, and you will be expected to work one evening per week, until 8.15pm, providing building cover for our volunteer counsellors.
There will be times when the Admin Office is extremely busy managing requests with short deadlines, so being calm under pressure and able to prioritise your workload is essential. There are occasions when you will be asked to work from our Advice Centre in Southampton to cover leave/absence.
Strong communication skills (face-to-face, telephone and email) is essential, as you are the first point of contact when dealing with young people, family members or professionals. There will be times when you have to deal with difficult situations, so will need to use your own initiative. In addition to this, you will be able to demonstrate excellent listening and empathy skills when dealing with vulnerable young people or family members.
The role can be very busy and challenging, but also highly rewarding, working within a supportive team.
We are committed to making a difference to the lives of the children and young people we work with, and as such you must show a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours, which flow from the No Limits ethos. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is paramount.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to ensuring diversity and inclusivity. We are proud that many of our staff and volunteers are using their own lived experience to support children and young people facing similar challenges.
As part of our team, you’ll receive a comprehensive induction and access to learning and development opportunities that are relevant to your role and to support your ongoing development.
