The Active Wellbeing Society (TAWS) is a community benefit society that aims to build happy, healthy communities living active and connected lives. We work with communities to tackle inequalities and promote community wellbeing. All of our activities and interventions are grounded in principles co-production, ‘working with’ not ‘doing to’. We work with communities at a grassroots level to amplify the voices of people who are often unheard and work together to bring about sustainable change.

Share Shacks

Share Shacks are place based community hubs for individuals and communities to share, create and grow. Spaces that encourage connection to others through borrowing, repairing, reusing and learning new skills. Safe spaces to support communities to tackle the barriers to participation and increase levels of social and physical activities.

Ladywood Share Shack is a thriving community space, centrally positioned in a shop-front location. It currently operates Monday to Friday and we are now looking to open on a Saturday between the hours of 10am to 2pm. This will increase opportunities to access equipment, share skills by delivering sessions that repair and upcycle items, encourage partnerships by working with other organisations and groups in the area.
