About us
UCL’s Workplace Health team provide professional evidence-based, safe, effective occupational health and wellbeing advice and services to UCL staff and professionally regulated students. This is in order to promote health at work/study and enhance the cultural and physical environment in which teaching, learning and research can operate effectively.
The Workplace Wellbeing Team’s remit is to ensure all UCL staff have the tools and resources to support their wellbeing and mental health. Having designed a clear offering under ‘Being Well at UCL’ which encompasses Healthy Body, Healthy Mind and Healthy Work, we are now recruiting for a Workplace Wellbeing Communications Officer to support the programme.
About the role
The postholder will play critical role in ensuring clear and consistent communication; raising staff awareness of the breadth of the support available and clarity on how to access it. They will develop and implement communication plans for campaigns and events to drive staff engagement with initiatives to support their wellbeing and mental health, and will design, develop and disseminate accessible, inclusive and relevant wellbeing content for key channels including newsletters and social media.
The Workplace Wellbeing Communications Officer will update and maintain Workplace Health (occupational health and wellbeing) website, including writing, editing and uploading content and selecting images and multimedia, and provide monthly reports on engagement analytics (web, social media, etc.) and identify areas for improvement and development.
About you
To excel in this role you must have experience of delivering communications across a range of channels including websites, e-newsletters, etc, and of using social media to promote an organisation, project or campaign in a professional capacity. You will be comfortable writing copy for different audiences, and will have an up to date knowledge of social media channels and developments. Strong IT skills including competency across MS Office are a must, as are good copywriting skills, a high level of attention to detail to spelling and grammar and the ability to work independently.
You will have experience of project management and managing their execution with senior support, and the ability to understand and interpret complex projects to allow you to communicate key messages to your audience. You will need strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and tailor content effectively to different formats and audiences. You will need to be highly organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to work across multiple group and individual projects simultaneously.
