Job role summary:-
The position of Assistant Manager is vital to the structure of the business and its success. The Assistant Manager will have solid hospitality skills, knowledge, training and attention to detail, coupled with a naturally high aspiration for exacting standards to achieve the set goals and standards required by the Directors and the expectations of our customers. With a specific focus on the customer experience, service standards and revenue generation.
Managerial responsibilities
- Directly line manage the Front of House
- Ensure that the team are correctly uniformed, punctual, polite, courteous, and helpful to guests and colleagues at all times.
- Responsible for the general security of the company property, departmental keys andstock.
- In conjunction with the FOH Supervisor, complete 6 week and 3-month job reviews withall new employees to evaluate performance and action outcomes where necessary.
- Complete annual performance reviews and set goals and development plans to improve the Front of House operation.
- Ensure that all new starter forms are completed and that personnel files are completed.
- Train and induct all staff and record training to the agreed standards.
- Ensure that all new employees provide the correct right to work documentation.
- Interview and recruit new applicants in conjunction with the Operations Director
- Attend weekly management meetings and monthly financial review meetings with the director/business owner, General Manager and Head Chef.
- Produce and manage FOH and Housekeeping rota’s, ensuring staffing levels match the level of business and are in line with the budget.
- Manage all customer events end to end.
- Be fully conversant with the services and promotions offered and where appropriate offer this information to the customer.
- Actively consider prevention, recovery and investigation of any customer complaints.
- Ensure the high level of service standards are maintained throughout the Front of House operation.
- Manage the website, open table, and emails with regards to reservations and enquiries.
- Monthly/weekly/ forecasting i.e., revenue, identify peaks and troughs and report this information to the General manager.
- Liaising with the accounts department in assisting with delivery notes, petty cash, andbanking.
- Coordinate and hold monthly FOH team meetings, ensuring minutes are taken and distributed to the team
- Delegate responsibilities to FOH Supervisor where necessary.
- To be responsible for the End of Day ‘cash up’ procedures.
- To be on call for emergencies
- To cover for the General Manager, as required, in their absence
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
