Job description
We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on appointed person / crane supervisor to join our team on the largest infrastructure project in the UK, in Rickmansworth area.
The ideal candidate:
· Have a valid Blue CPCS A62 Lift Supervisor
· Have a valid SSSTS
· Have a valid Blue CPCS A61 Appointed Person
· Have a valid Blue CPCS A40 Slinger / Signaller
- Have an extensive experience and proven competence in the planning, risk assessment and safe implementation of lifting operations during Construction activities.
- Is fully conversant within BSEN technical standards, processes and procedures for assuring the technical Integrity of lifting equipment (e.g. thorough examination, certification and inspection requirements).
- Delivery focused with proven experience in achieving project goals whilst maintain high standards in HSEQ at all times.
- Extensive knowledge of the construction process and its implementation.
- Experienced in the management of personnel and all aspects of team working.
- Extensive knowledge of HSEQ safe working practices / procedures.
- Able to interface and interact with Management and Client representatives at all levels.
Scope:
- Producing and reviewing the Lift Plans, ensuring they cover the lifting operation from start to finish, and remain relevant to the actual situation on site at the time of the lift.
- Briefing the lifting team on the contents of the Lift Plan and ensuring understanding is tested and recorded (in the form of Lift Plan briefings and toolbox talks)
- Actively engaging with the team
- Happy to work on site as a crane supervisor and a slinger when required
- Ensuring only lifting equipment and accessories as identified by the AP are used in the lifting operation and only in the configuration specified. Stopping the lift if not.
- Ensuring that any movement limiting device, where used to limit movement, is secured or locked and key removed.
- Ensuring that adequate pre-operational checks, intermediate inspections, maintenance, and Thorough Examinations of the equipment / accessories have been carried out.
