As a Wind Turbine Technician in our England North team based at Meadowfield Service Centre (DH7 8XD) every day is different and provides a real opportunity to make a difference in our ambition to help the UK achieve Net Zero.

You will work across multiple assets (Nordex, Vestas) to deliver scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services to our onshore wind turbine projects.

What’s my role and where will I fit in?

  • Schedule and reactive maintenance accordance with manufacturer’s guideline
  • Report and plan daily maintenance activity
  • Coordinate local spare part and consumable stock
  • Fault-finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components
  • Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime
  • Supervise specialist and subcontractor activity during main component exchange
  • Provide safety induction to contractors and visitors
  • Provide out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown
  • Ensure the highest level of turbine availability

What’s my role and where will I fit in?

You’ll be a time served Engineer (electrical/mechanical) with a primary focus on ensuring operations and maintenance activities are undertaken to the highest levels you’ll ideally hold a AT/AE qualification under Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR) and have significant technical expertise gained through a blend of academic (Electrical or Mechanical HNC/HND/NVQ) and “hands on” operational environments.

For this role you will be based at Meadowfield Service Centre so you must live within 45 minutes of the centre. You will have a high level of physical fitness and good health with the ability to work at height and in adverse weather conditions.


You must hold a full UK driving licence.
