Are you interested in wildlife, nature and the environment? We are looking for someone to support us with our exciting education and wellbeing programmes to connect people with nature. You will gain experience in all aspects of wildlife education and wellbeing engagement at Kent Wildlife Trust in this rewarding role.

Globally and nationally wildlife is in steep decline. We appear to be reaching critical tipping points around the loss of biodiversity as well as around climate change, both being interlinked. Human society cannot prosper without wildlife and healthy ecosystems.

Kent’s wildlife needs to be restored to much higher levels. We can no longer allow common things to become rare. We can only do this by restoring large-scale natural habitat areas and processes. Doing this will contribute to solving global problems. But we won’t be able to do this unless we publicly aspire to a higher level of impact and show that we can deliver this.

Kent Wildlife Trust is the leading wildlife charity for Kent and Medway, supported by its members and staffed by committed professionals. We are all working to protect wildlife and to find better ways to run an efficient and effective organisation.

The Job: Are you interested in wildlife, nature, and the environment? Do you enjoy sharing your enthusiasm with others?

We are looking for someone to support us with our exciting education and wellbeing programmes to connect people with nature. As an apprentice, you will gain experience in all aspects of wildlife education and wellbeing engagement at Kent Wildlife Trust. This is a rewarding role, where you get the chance to work with people of all ages from toddlers through to adults, helping them to learn about nature and wildlife.

You: You will be a team player with a desire to share your enthusiasm for the great outdoors with others. You will have a responsible attitude, showing common sense and have a flexible approach and willingness to work with other staff, tutors and volunteers.

This is an apprenticeship role following the Outdoor Activity Instructor level 3 standard with training provided by Locomotivation as well as on-the-job training from Kent Wildlife Trust. The equivalent of one day per week will be spent on training, which will take place at Kent Wildlife Trust sites.

Unfortunately we are unable to offer this role to anyone under the age of 18.

This post also requires an enhanced DBS check to be obtained for the successful applicant.
