Established in 1975, here at Wenzel’s The Bakers we currently have over 100 retail shops, in addition to our central bakery in Watford which is also home to our Head Office. We manufacture bread and cakes and offer delicious hot and cold takeaway products to over 250,000 customers a week.
We are expanding the brand in both the bakery operation and by opening more of our retail shops. To help support us on our journey as we grow, we are now seeking a Field Service Engineer with at least 2 years of experience in repairing and servicing coffee machines. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing regular servicing of coffee machines across our 102 sites, being reactive to emergency callouts, and reporting into the Property Director.
Pay & Hours:
We are offering a competitive pay of £35,000 per annum.
This is a permanent, full-time position, 5 days per week (Monday to Sundays)
Place of work:
Wenzel’s Head Office, Sunley House, Olds Approach, Watford, WD18 9TB, but with travel to 102 sites throughout the UK

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute regular servicing of Franke and La Cimbali coffee machines across 102 sites throughout the UK.
- Diagnose and repair coffee machines as needed, including identifying and sourcing spare parts.
- Respond to emergency callouts in a timely and efficient manner.
- Report to the Property Director and maintain clear communication on the status of coffee machine repairs and servicing schedules.
- Ensure all coffee machines are cleaned, maintained, and functioning at optimal levels, minimizing downtime for our business.
- Provide advice and guidance to Wenzel’s the Bakers Ltd. team members on the proper operation, maintenance, and cleaning of coffee machines.
Requirements:
- Electrical / Mechanical Experience
- You will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in repairing and servicing coffee machines, preferably Franke and La Cimbali models.
- A relevant engineering qualification (desirable)
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage a schedule of planned servicing and respond to emergency callouts as needed.
- A full and clean UK driving licence, and willingness to travel across the UK.
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
- A passion for great coffee and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and service.
