Housing Advisor
Location: London
Salary: £31,000
Ingeus are currently looking for a Housing Advisor to provide participants on Restart with informed support, appropriate information and specialist advice to progress positive actions regarding their housing situation, allowing them to focus on getting back into Employment.
You will offer advice, advocacy and direct intervention to participants on the Restart programme who are experiencing problems relating to their housing situation.
What you’ll be doing as the Housing Advisor:
- Providing confidential advice and support to participants referred to them.
- Liaison with third parties, as appropriate, including Local Authorities, DWP, Job Centre Plus, landlords, Mortgage companies etc. on behalf of the participant regarding arrears, repayment and other housing related issues.
- Managing a caseload and supporting each individual in adhering to agreed actions to improve their housing situation including regularly reviewing progress.
- Keeping up to date with legislation, policies and procedures relating to casework and attending relevant subject based training, briefings and networking events with relevant agencies.
- Organising informative workshops and briefings for participants.
To be the Housing Advisor you will have;
- Recent experience of providing face-to-face housing advice
- Knowledge of various housing issues that affect those at risk of homelessness
- Experience of engagement with external organisations such as, landlords, local authorities, finance companies and other bodies
- Experience of working in an outcomes / target based environment.
The Restart Scheme is a specially designed programmed which gives participants who have been out of work for 9 plus months, intensive and tailored support to help find sustained work in their local area.
