Summer Study Holidays involve more than just learning. Our groups of young students visit us from overseas throughout the summer, staying typically 7-14 days. We provide them with a fantastic academic and activities programme, but also support them with travel, accommodation and are responsible for their general care, safety, and well-being during their trip.


This is where you come in. As Welfare and Accommodation Manager, you’ll head up our team of Student Welfare Officers and liaise closely with the Centre Management team and Group Leaders.


It’s a great opportunity to extend your management skills within an exciting and varied role over the summer holidays. We have locations in Canterbury, Cambridge, London Uxbridge, Central London, Bournemouth, and Oakham. As we provide you with accommodation, you don’t need to be local to apply.


Here’s some of the duties you’ll be responsible for:

  • Working closely with the Centre Director, supporting the safety, and welfare of all students. This includes catering to all cultural, religious and welfare needs. You’ll also promote welfare and protection policies across the school
  • Managing your team of Student Welfare Officers. This involves setting weekly rotas to cover ‘lights-out’ and various other pastoral duties for our young students
  • Act as Designated Safeguarding Leader and managing all Health & Safety aspects of the programme
  • You’ll allocate accommodation, manage transfers and the supervision rota. Ensure that general housekeeping duties are met, while liaising with Group Leaders to provide a safe, fun, and smooth-running stay with Stafford House
  • Night time duties on a rota basis
  • Working up to 60 hours over 6 days per week – as part of the management team, this is a fully immersive position

Some of what you’ll need to join us over the summer as Welfare and Accommodation Manager:

  • Proven successful experience in management and leadership
  • Previous residential experience, ideally within a school or educational setting
  • Professional with a calm approach to resolving issues
  • Experience of working with large groups, and/or young people would be of benefit
  • A very good understanding of Safeguarding procedures and policies
  • Be a great communicator, with a level of spoken and written English equivalent to CEF level C1/CAE/IELTS 7.0
