Job Description
What you’ll do:
You’ll work within FD&AO, who are Group Finances’ leading authorities in the design, management and delivery of data led solutions and initiatives.
The FD&AO are front and centre of leading the data agenda for multi-year changes across the technology landscape within Group Finance. This includes exciting opportunities to be involved in the transition to new cloud-based architectures and ensuring that key data controls are in place to ensure processes and reporting are accurate.
You’ll have an inquisitive mind with an ambition to develop this capability professionally, and a consistent record in delivering with a high attention to detail, in a timely fashion.
About the programme & what you’ll learn:
Starting in September 2023, you’ll be supported through a fully funded Level 4 – Data Analyst Apprenticeship professional qualification - delivered by our trusted partner Firebrand, which will lead onto the Level 6 Data Scientist Apprenticeship, with a combined study time of around four years.
Whilst on the Apprenticeship scheme 20% of your time will be dedicated to ‘Mandatory Apprenticeship Hours’, which can include attending residential & online classroom learning, workshops, shadowing, reading, completing assignments etc. This means 80% of your role is applying your learning in the workplace, in a safe environment.
By the end of this programme, not only will you have a Data related degree you’ll have a clear path for progression within Lloyds Banking Group and a firm understanding of your strengths and career goals.
As part of this role you’ll learn to…
Identify data for analysis based upon requirements
Manipulate, merge and link different data sets as required
Establish reporting needs and draw recommendations
Compile data in preparation for analysis
Compile data from multiple sources including data bases, spreadsheets and reports
Interpret and apply the organisations data and information security standards, policies and procedures to data management activities
Perform database queries across multiple tables to extract data for analysis
Schedule and automate queries
Use data mining tools to discover useful patterns in large data sets
Apply the tools and techniques for data analysis, data visualisation and presentation
Summarise and present the results of data analysis to a range of stakeholders making recommendations
Use data and commercial knowledge to extract insight from analysis to assist with decision making
Communicate complex ideas simply through a strong commercial story
Use exciting and impactful data visualisations
Present results verbally and via written reports
We expect you to be motivated, ambitious and committed to your own development. In particular, you’ll be keen to get to grips with financial systems and processes.

If successful at this stage, you’ll be invited to attend a virtual assessment centre as part of the selection process. We’ll let you know as soon as we can if you have been successful at each stage.
