Job description
The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of regulations pertaining to commercial and residential plumbing and heating systems, to allow them to carry out the installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and diagnostics on such systems. They will be able to install new plumbing and heating systems. They will carry out their work to customer standards whilst upholding safety guidelines and complying with regulations, company policies and standards set out within the company handbook and employment contract.
- To work under the direct management of their line manager
- To perform their duties in a timely and professional manner, presenting themselves at all times as a representative of the company. This includes wearing company supplied uniform
- Maintaining and cleaning company equipment issued to them, including uniform, tools and mobile telephones, reporting all damage or loss immediately to their line manager
- Correct and full use of the company operating system (currently Commusoft) ensuring accurate time keeping and records
- Diagnose and repair issues in Commercial Plumbing installations and carry out replacement if required
- Assess the parts needed for a job and place orders for those parts
- Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and domestic Plumbing systems, and ensure installations are to current regulations, including waste, heating and hot and cold systems.
- Repair and/or replace faulty Plumbing installations, such as heating components, waste fittings, hot and cold systems and other Plumbing related issues
- Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with regulations and follows safety procedures
- Work under their own initiative to locate and diagnose faults and concerns in Plumbing installations without receiving explicit direction
- Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions or relaying these questions to the relevant department within the company
- Install Plumbing systems compliant with the latest regulations
- Provide professional assessments and advice for customers
- Demonstrate familiarity with current installation methods to the Plumbing and Heating Division Manager
- Be able to test Plumbing installations, in line with the current regulations and record the results of such tests on either electronic or manual test certificates
- Be conversant with the safe and correct operation of Plumbing test equipment
- Other tasks and responsibilities as required to maintain efficient department operations
- Ability and willingness to work non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
Required / Desired Skills and Qualifications
- A completed Plumbing Apprenticeship
- City & Guilds Level 2 or current equivalent qualification
- Self-motivated and able to work under their own Initiative
- Previous Experience in (but not confined to);
Installation of residential plumbing systems and wiring, Heating Systems, Maintenance, Diagnostics / Fault Finding, Safety procedures, Testing and recording of installations.
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication skills
- Basic ICT skills
- Clean, Valid UK Driver's License
