Keychange is a Christian Charity working in elderly social care and homeless communities. Creating Caring Communities. Keychange provides care, support, development, and well-being services across eleven sites in England, consisting of nine residential Care Homes for older people and two Housing Communities for young people.
Bank Support worker ( Wayside Community)
Hours : Weekend hours, primarily on a Sunday circa 10-15 hours p.w.
Pay : Hourly rate £10.50, rising to £11 on completion of probation.
To offer support to residents in a supported housing environment and to keep the environment safe and secure for residents by effectively managing the house during working hours. deal with any emergencies in the first instance.
- Give support in providing opportunities for residents’ to develop themselves to help enable them to achieve long-term sustainability of independent accommodation.
- To know and work in accordance with resident support plans and update file notes.
- To work within resident risk assessments and highlight if they need updating.
- To help build community life and positive inter-actions between residents.
- To promote residents towards stable and responsible conduct, for the benefit of themselves and other residents.
- To work as part of a team, keeping within professional boundaries and maintaining confidentiality.
- To ensure communal areas are kept clean and tidy by residents. To regularly check resident bedrooms for health & safety and hygiene reasons.
- To ensure that Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered to and to ensure any concerns are reported and recorded appropriately.
- To be aware of all legal and policy requirements at Wayside and to participate in accurately recording and reporting.
- To fulfil safeguarding obligations and be aware of how to report concerns.
- To attend staff meetings, supervision and necessary trainings.
- To be sympathetic to and respectful the Christian ethos of Keychange Charity.
- To undertake other duties and tasks as required by the Manager.
What We are Looking For:
- A background in supporting people is desirable but not essential
- Willingness to complete mandatory training courses
- Understanding of how best to assist clients
- Importance of working as part of a team
- Ability to digest and follow policies and legislation
- Some understanding of the Christian faith
- Able to make decisions and deal with situations which may arise.
